I recently came across this festival and it sounds amazing. Last year saw the re-kindling of the oldest recorded festival in Europe – The Festival of the Fires on the ancient Hill of Uisneach.
I’m a big fan of festivals and this combines a lot of things I love – old Ireland, Mythology, Music and Spirituality. Check out the festival website for the Hill of Uisneach’s fascinating history.
“Created through the alchemy of ceremony, heritage, music, theatre, literature, arts, crafts, poetry, holistic health and sustainability Festival of the Fires will feature the collective talents of hundreds of participants drawn from all over Ireland and the world, gathering at the exact centre-point of Ireland to celebrate the onset of summer.”
Musical highlights last year included Sharon Shannon and her big band, Mundy and Kila. I’m really looking forward to seeing what this years line up will be!
If this sounds good to you – Check out the Festival of the Fires for updates. This years festival is soon to be announced!
Nice read. Cheers for this.
