**Note this tour had to be postponed again due to lack of funds but will be kicked off again Winter 2012**
A tour of Ireland is something I have wanted to do for years but lack of time, money, travel buddies and many of my other excuses have pushed this plan out month by month. I finally kick started the plan with a trip to Wexford last weekend which I will write about in the next post.
Ideally I would have a funky little campervan to ferry me along on my journey but instead my trusty Focus will take me to couches, cottages, hostels and B&B’s around the country. I am still constrained by money and time so I will be travelling once a month at weekends only so the schedule will be pretty hectic!
The plan is to research and photograph the vernacular architecture of each county as well as experiencing and highlighting the main tourist attractions of each area. I am doing this on a non-existant budget so hopefully it will inspire others to vacation in Ireland and appreciate the beauty and possibilities of the country despite the economic climate.
I’d appreciate any hints and tips for visits along the way!
[…] Wexford Tour – Day 1 – Johnstown Castle, Agricultural Museum, Moyglass, National Heritage Park Wexford became the first stop on my tour of Ireland by default – a good friend asked me to come down to the Wexford Strawberry Festival. I love Strawberries and it was just handy that the county she asked me to visit was one of the – ‘never been’ counties on my list. […]

Cottageology – we have a tiny cottage in Clare in need of a renter. It’s only €130/month and would suit fisherman, campervan enthusiast, work-shop folk, out-doors type, etc. If you know of someone who would like to see more pics of cottage (as in gumtree ad) please let us know. Cottage is very basic and needs much TLC (hense low rent). Please email in the first instance and we will reply with full pic sets and open term agreement.
Thank you kindly
